‘Zlatna Pocva’ (2018) which translates to ‘Golden Soil’ was composed for trumpet, violin, piano, and percussion – in particular, Cajón. The title of the piece originates from the thought of the rich Macedonian soil, which not only allows all fruits, flowers and seeds to flourish, but also offers and presents a very rich scenery and the equality of nature that exists in Macedonia. This work was specifically composed for my dear colleague Djoko Aloski with whom I was acquainted in December 2017 for 40 years jubilee concert of Maestro Zoran Dzorlev. ‘Zlatna Pocva’ draws from the Macedonian folk lyricism and rich asymmetric rhythms that contain a dance-like dynamic to create an interesting and sophisticated macro design.
